Drug & Alcohol Screening
Screen for Safety
Alcohol use is a serious workplace problem, contributing to 11% of all workplace accidents and injuries. Employer & Disability Health Solutions helps protect your workplace with reliable alcohol screening.
We provide alcohol breath analysis as well as blood work testing if needed. Whether you’d like to conduct regular randomised testing or on an ad hoc basis, we have the tools and experience to meet your needs.
Testing can be conducted onsite at your workplace or offsite at one of our offices. We take every measure to ensure employees’ privacy while they are being screened. Testing can be done in a spare office, conference room, or one of our testing vehicles.
The process is quick and easy for all employees; they simply breathe into our analysing device or undergo a finger prick to collect a blood sample. The collection process will be determined by your unique drug and alcohol policy.
Once the sample is collected, we receive results almost immediately. Non-negative results will be sent to a local authorised laboratory for further analysis to confirm a positive result. All screening will be conducted in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards for Drug and Alcohol testing as detailed above.
Depending on the results, we’ll work with you to determine appropriate next steps as part of your workplace drug and alcohol policy. Alcohol screening is one of the most effective ways for employers to manage risks in the workplace. Contact us today to see how we can help.
Workplace Alcohol Screening
Drugs and alcohol cost Australian businesses over $6 billion each year in lost productivity alone. That doesn’t even take into account the loss from accident and injury claims. As an employer, the best way to manage drug risk in your workplace is with a solid drug and alcohol policy that includes drug testing.
Depending on your industry and needs, you may choose to institute regular testing for all employees. Or you may decide to only test in the case of suspected impairment. Either way, EDHS provides reliable urine and saliva based drug screening to meet your needs.
EDHS screenings can test for most common drugs including marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, and methamphetamine. Results can reveal substances present in the body within the past 48 hours, though this may vary based on substance and usage history.
When testing is needed, our team can conduct screening onsite at your workplace or offsite at one of our locations. The process is simple for both saliva and urine tests. Collection is done either through a simple cheek swab or a urine sample. Both are conducted by a trained professional with an emphasis on privacy and integrity.
All screening will be conducted in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards for Drug and Alcohol testing as detailed above. Initial results are typically available in a day or less. Non-negative results are sent to a local authorised laboratory for further analysis to confirm a positive result.
Drug screenings make your workplace safer and more productive, and protect your employees from harm. Contact EDHS for help with a testing policy and all your testing needs.
